Neues Filmprojekt mit Rob - "Lost City of Z"

Rob hat erneut ein Filmprojekt an Land gezogen. Dabei handelt es sich um den Film "Lost City of Z" bei dem James Gray Regie fürhen wird. An der Seite von Rob werden wir außerdem Benedict Cumberbatch sehen :) Ihn kennt man aus Filmen wie Star Trek Into the Darkness" oder "Abbitte".

Der Film basiert auf dem Bestseller-Buch von David Grann. Produziert wird von Brad Pitt´s Produktionsfirma Plan B von Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner und Anthony Katagas - die beide schon mit Cumberbatch gearbeitet haben. Das Projekt befindet sich bereits seit einigen Jahren in der Entwicklung und nun scheint es endlich los zu gehen. Panorama Media hat die Rechte zu dieser Abenteuer Geschichte gekauft.

Inhalt:
Es geht um Percy Fawcett, der 1925 in die Tiefen des Amazonas zieht, um den Djungel auf eine Karte zu bringen, an Malaria erkrankt (und humpelt/behindert ist) und somit die sogenannte "City of Lost Z" kennenlernt. Verachtet von den Kollegen, die behaupten dass dieses antike Königreich ein Schwindel wäre, reist er gemeinsam mit seinem Sohn und einem anderen zurück. Mutig sich den Gefahren der Krankheit, der Insekten, Schlangen, giftigen Pfeilen und anderer Gefahren zu stellen, um seine Feststellungen zu bekräftigen. Keiner von ihnen wurde je wieder gesehen und es ist bis heute eines der größten Erkundungsmysterien des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Benedict Cumberbatch is negotiating to star in Lost City Of Z, which James Gray will direct from a script he adapted. Panorama Media will finance the film and handle foreign sales.
The film is based on the David Grann bestselling book. Cumberbatch is in talks to play Percy Fawcett, who in 1925 headed into the depths of the Amazon jungles in Brazil. Fawcett was there to map the jungle and, hobbled by malaria, he discovered a mythical city he called The Lost City Of Z. Scorned by peers who claimed that this ancient kingdom was a fraud, Fawcett headed back into the jungle with his son and one other, braving the dangers of disease, insects, snakes, poison darts and other hazards to reinforce his discovery. None of them were ever seen again and it remains one of the great exploration mysteries of the 20th Century.
Plan B‘s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Anthony Katagas (who worked with Cumberbatch on 12 Years A Slave) will produce. Plan B has been developing the project for several years, and it initially seemed like Pitt would be heading into the jungles.

Robert Pattinson has joined The Lost City of Z, a source close to the situation confirms to Gossip Cop.

The film will also star Benedict Cumberbatch.

James Gray is directing the movie, with Brad Pitt’s company Plan B producing.

It is an adaptation of the David Grann book about legendary British explorer Percy Fawcett, who disappeared while searching for an ancient lost city in the Amazon in the 1920s.
