Guy Pearce expects Robert Pattinson to become the "biggest movie star in the world".

The 47-year-old actor appears alongside the 'Twilight' star in thriller film 'The Rover' and he believes the hunk's great looks and superb acting ability can enable him to become the best in the industry if he puts his mind to it.

He said: "I'd met Robert briefly one Comic Con a couple of years ago and told him he was great - I'd only seen one of his films, 'Water For Elephants'.

"He's as interested in delving into character as much, if not more, than I am.

"I thought, 'This guy's totally my cup of tea.' Then I put two and two together and went, 'Hang on, he looks like that, he's that famous and he's this good .... Seriously, if he doesn't become the biggest movie star in the world there's something wrong.'

"Amazing as an actor and amazing looking - what a combination."

(...)
But there's another layer to this narrative: You've got Kristen Stewart coming off of "Twilight," and Binoche appeared in a bit role in "Godzilla" earlier this year. What are your thoughts on the contrast between their experiences in such a different filmmaking arena?

When you're an actress, you may have some control over your career, but not total control over where your career takes you. So you are fairly dependent on the environment. Today, being a famous actress means that you get offered parts in blockbusters that are eventually more serious, in character-driven filmmakers. You may get offers from indie filmmakers. And you get offers for stage work. Plus, your life is all over the place on the internet. So you have to make your choices to build something that has some sort of coherence out of all that comes to you, and it's very difficult. I think that often, the movies that are the most difficult are also the most rewarding for an actress.
In light of that observation, what's your take on Kristen Stewart?
I'm extremely grateful and admiring of Kristen, in the sense that she can do more or less what she wants — I mean, she has a lot of options. That's the least one can say. And she's doing indie films. She wants to remain part of that world. She's taking risks, trying things, and when she spends two months in Europe with a bunch of weird French filmmakers, she's completely cut off from her world. You know, we're shooting in Leipzig, it's not like you can just go home for the weekend. I mean, you're stuck there. She's there because she thinks she has something to learn — not so much from me but from Juliette, specifically about how she's been able to keep some sort of hold on what she's been doing and how she's been asserting her freedom and her own weird choices. I think that she works in a slightly different space and has the intuition that there is something there for her.
Your next movie will co-star Robert Pattinson. Do you feel similarly about him?
I met him in London at a very early stage before I shot "Sils Maria" while I was still working on the screenplay for my next film, but I knew I wanted him for the leading role. We had a long conversation in London about the project. That's also one of the first times I met Kristen. She was around.
Does working with these younger, well-known U.S. actors make it easier for you to get your films done?
No. You know, a movie like "Sils Maria" functions pretty much the same way as my other movies in terms of how I build it. I have a similar budget. It's a small film. We shot in 32 days, six weeks.

But Kristen Stewart alone brings a whole new audience who hasn't seen your other films.
Yeah, of course. Those things fall into a place based on a logic you have no control over. I really do think that, for this movie, Kristen is the best possible choice alongside Juliette. I don't think that there's an actress who would have been more to the point, more of what I had in mind when I was writing this film. So in that sense, she's a big star, but it makes complete sense. It just happens that I wrote that kind of part. I have no plans of writing another part like that. It certainly doesn't change the dynamics of the film. For instance, when Kristen came onboard for this film, the financing was there for another actress to play her part. It was Mia Wasichowska. Then she couldn't do it because she had a studio contract, which basically didn't allow her to shoot within our schedule. Initially, Kristen had not been available because she had another movie happening in the same time. So things changed and all of a sudden she was available. But what I'm saying is that in terms of the financing for the film, it didn't change a thing.

'Life' Co-Star Dane DeHaan spricht über Rob

Dane DeHaan has revealed that he made no attempt to become friends with Robert Pattinson before they started filming Life

The Amazing Spider-Man actor stars alongside the Twilight heartthrob in Anton Corbijn's drama, focusing on the friendship between Life photographer Dennis Stock (Pattinson) and Hollywood icon James Dean (De Haan).

"It's an interesting relationship that they have. They do become close in the film, and they do become friends, but they're not friends from the start," he said.

"So what we did is we didn't try to make any sort of friendship beforehand. We got there and that's when our friendship started. So as it was happening on screen, it was also happening in real life."

The 28-year-old said they bonded on set, adding: "He's a really nice guy. He's totally chill and he's fun to hang out with, and he's fun to be on set with. We had a great time."

Sir Ben Kingsley and Joel Edgerton also star in Life, which wrapped shooting on April 1. "We just finished a week and a half ago," Dane said.

Like her pyrotechnic stage outfits, her humour is saucy and postcard style - all double entendres and faintly inappropriate fart jokes. 'OK, so here's the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson. I fart in front of him. Properly fart. And I never, ever fart in front of a man I am dating. That's a rule.' It's typical Katy - a disarming way to difuse an awkward topic. 'He's my bud. I'm like his big sister. We just hang out. The other day, I said: "One of the things I'm most proud of is not sleeping with you, Robert." And that's true.'

Part of my thinks quiet, English Robert might be a lovely boyfriend for Katy. Yet, it's clear, given her predilection for bad, big-mouthed boys, that he is absolutely not her type.

(...)

She also has A-list girlfriend, with whom relations sometimes seem a little strained. Mortified at being painted as the other woman, she made sure Kristen Stewart knew the Robert Pattinson relationship rumors were just that. 'I sent her a text message saying: "I know you've seen all this stuff, but you know I would never disrespect you. I'm not that person. I'm just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of tits."'

'Queen of the Desert' Regisseur Werner Herzog spricht über Rob

Das Interview ist schon etwas älter..

Playboy: Für Ihren nächsten Film „Queen of the Desert“ haben Sie „Twilight“- Teenieschwarm Robert Pattinson gecastet.

Playboy: Was sehen Sie in Robert Pattinson?

Carey Mulligan spricht über Rob + 'Hold On To Me' Update

Josh: There's a film called Hold On To Me. There was talk that Rob was in town and you guys did some talking about Rob Pattinson and about the film. Was that coincidence you both were in town? Are you working on that right now?
Carey: We did talk about it at one point. We couldn't get it together in time. We still hope to do it.
Josh: Oh so it's a little on the back burner for now.
Carey: Yeah it's just sort of hanging out there for a second,
Josh: Gotcha.
Carey: *snaps fingers like shucks* Independent film.

Naomi Watts spricht über Rob & "Queen Of The Desert"

via youtube

eonline
Robert Pattinson and Naomi Watts will not be coming to theater near you anytime soon.

At least not together, that is. The two are signed to costar along with Jude Law in a Queen of the Desert, a period piece about British writer, traveler, archeologist and spy Gertrude Bell. “It’s still a way’s off,” Watts told me last night at the Luminara and Mulberry Project dinner for her Sundance Film Festival movie, Two Mothers. “I don’t know yet. Hopefully, it will happen. I just can’t travel again right now because I did a lot of traveling last year. It’s been a big year and it’s time for me to be home with the kids.”

David Cronenberg spricht über Twilight Fans, Rob und Maps to the Stars

Cosmopolis Regisseur David Cronenberg spricht in diesem neuen Interview mit dem DETAILS Magazin über die Twilight Fans (also uns^^), Rob und sein hoffentlich nächsten Projekt mit Rob^^ "Maps to the Stars".

DETAILS: Did having someone as marketable as Robert Pattinson in the lead help get Cosmopolis made?

DAVID CRONENBERG: It's not just Rob, but this was a Canadian-French co-production so actors like Juliette Binoche and Mathieu Amalric really do contribute to the strength that you have when you're trying to find money. What matters is, do you have a good actor working with you?

DETAILS: What made you want to cast Rob? This part is so far removed from what his enormous Twilight fan base would normally see him in.

DAVID CRONENBERG: Surprisingly enough they were very interested in it and developed websites for Cosmopolis just because of Rob. And a lot of the girls were talking about reading "Cosmopolis." I think the only thing they had read, probably, was "Twilight" and "Harry Potter," and suddenly they're reading Don DeLillo.

DETAILS: There's a very slick, high-tech fashion to the film. What was your inspiration for the look of Rob's character?

DAVID CRONENBERG: It all comes from what the characters are supposed to be in the movie. They're both very wealthy. They're both very comfortable with their wealth. It's interesting because some people have asked, "Is Rob's fame a parallel to Packer?" And I say, "No, quite the contrary. Eric Packer is not famous at all. He doesn't want his name in the paper." He dresses well, but sort of conventionally. In fact, Rob said that he wanted the guy to be dressed in almost a non-descript way. It's expensive clothes, but it's not flashy.

DETAILS: Maps to the Stars is supposed to start shooting in May. Have you been able to sign Robert Pattinson, Viggo Mortensen, and Rachel Weisz?

DAVID CRONENBERG: I don't think Viggo will be able to do it, but with the other two, so far, so good. Have they signed? No. But they have a verbal commitment if everything works out and if other things don't come along. It's still very possible for the three of them, but it's far from certain. That's life in the indie film world.

Hollyscoop
Despite the fact that Kristen Stewart’s character in Twilight is supposed to be totally clumsy with two left feet, Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2 choreographer Paul Becker says that’s far from the truth.

“At first it was actually Rob [Pattinson] that was stepping on Kristen’s toes and not the other way around,” Paul tells Hollyscoop exclusively.

Of course he’s referring to their now infamous wedding dance scene, confirming what we kind of already knew about Kristen--which is that KStew can probably do anything a dude can do, but do it better.

“In the movie she’s supposed to be a bad dancer, but Kristen took charge and let Rob know who is boss…they were supportive partners and quick learners,” the choreographer tells us.

Kristen also has a dance scene in her upcoming film “On The Road” and from the teasers that hit the internet, her dancing skills have wow’d everyone who thought Kristen was only good for sulking.

However, Paul tells us that if he had to rate the Twilight cast on dance ability alone, that honor would go to Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper.

“I have to say that Jackson Rathbone is the best dancer of all the vampires. He should be the star of Twilight the musical,” jokes Paul.

Hehe.. :D
